Gov't to provide 830,000 public sector jobs, 28,000 social service jobs in Q1 of 2021 Updated: 2021-01-27 09:49:02 KST

As part of efforts to boost the flagging economy, South Korea plans to provide more jobs through government-funded projects.
According to Labor Minister Lee Jae-gap, 830-thousand public sector jobs will be available in the first quarter, along with 28-thousand social service jobs.
He added that recruitment started in mid-January with local governments.
Last month, the number of employed people in South Korea was 26.5 million, 628-thousand fewer than a year earlier, the sharpest fall in nearly 22 years.
