South Korea's public sector added more jobs than ever in 2019 under the Moon administration's drive to increase hiring by the government and by state-run firms.
According to Statistics Korea, a total of 2.6 million people were working in the public sector, up 6.1 percent from the year before.
While hiring in this sector increased for all age groups, the biggest was for those in their 60s at 23 percent.
Public sector jobs accounted for 9.5 percent of all jobs in the country, up half a percentage point on year.
