Good morning. It's Daehan today the last winter seasonal term out of six meaning major cold. We had a big chill yesterday and we are waking up to freezing temperatures, but the highs will rise fast to reach above the seasonal norms by the afternoon.
But it's a cold start for many with cold wave alerts remaining in place. Mountainous regions in Gangwon-do and Gyeongsang-do are under cold wave warnings, while those regions are also under dry alerts. Be extra careful with fire as dry alerts have been expanded to Busan and Daegu as well.
Bundle up for your morning commute, Daejeon and Daegu are beginning the day at minus 8 degrees. Sunny skies will dominate the country.
Highs in most parts will hover above the norms AND the air quality will also be normal to good across the country so it should be a good day for a short afternoon stroll.
We have some wintry mix in the forecast but there shouldn't be a major drop in the readings.
