The pandemic has led to mass layoffs in South Korea, with a survey showing some four out of every ten non-regular workers have been laid off since January 2020.
According to a public survey conducted on workers aged between 19 and 55, the proportion of non-regular workers losing their jobs increased from some 8 percent in April to a staggering 37 percent in December.
Also, almost 80 percent of workers who lost their jobs last year have not been able to receive unemployment allowance.
