Good morning. This winter has been a harsh one so far with heavy sporadic snowfall in the capital region yesterday. Today we can enjoy some welcome relief from wintry weather. Afternoon temperatures will reach as high as 9 degrees in Seoul, hovering way above the seasonal norms under sunny skies.
But many of the country will be choking under toxic smog blown in from outside the country and yellow dust will sweep in from the west coast. We'll need a face mask that can block the fine dust.
Lows in most regions are 2 to 7 degrees higher than the same time yesterday, Daejeon and Gwangju at minus 2 degrees Celsius this morning. Walk with care, side walks are coated with ice and snow.
Highs will be 5 to 8 degrees higher, at 9 degrees in Seoul, southern provinces will see highs in the double digits.
It will be milder than the seasonal norms through the end of the work week then a wintry mix on Friday will bring some bone chilling temperatures this weekend
That's Korea for you and here's a look at the weather conditions around the world.
