South Korea reported 967 new COVID- 19 cases on Wednesday with numbers still lingering around the 1,000 mark.
This comes as cluster infections continue, including some 800 cases at a detention center in Seoul.
Seoul's justice ministry will hold a briefing in the next couple of minutes to give the latest updates on the breakout including the initial cause, number of confirmed patients and countermeasures to tame the surge.
The ministry decided on Wednesday to conduct a fourth round of testing at the center on some 1,830 people.
