The bitter cold has eased off a bit and slightly warmer weather will continue through to the weekend.
Let's go to our Lee Seung-min at the Weather Center.
Seung-min, despite rising temperatures, I hear we have some light snow in the forecast late tonight?
Well, Ji-yeon. We have some light snow and rain in store for overnight. In parts of Gyeonggi-do and Gangwon-do provinces, 3 centimeters of snowfall are in forecast through early tomorrow morning. Parts of western central regions, including Seoul, will see up to 5 millimeters of rain. In areas where temperatures are on a downward trend, rain may turn into snow. Roads may become slippery, so please be careful when driving.
Tomorrow morning will be cloudy in most regions. Seoul will begin at 2 degrees Celsius, Gwangju and Daegu at 1 degree.
The daytime will be a bit warmer with Seoul reaching 8 degrees. Chuncheon 5 degrees. Gwangju and Daegu at 11 degrees.
The less cold conditions will prevail until the weekend and most regions will stay near the seasonal norms. However, temperatures are set to drop significantly next week to around minus 8 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, critical fire conditions persist across the east of the country, due to the extreme dryness and gusty offshore winds. Please continue to watch out for fires.
That's all for now, and here are the weather conditions around the world.
