The S&P 500 and Dow pulled back from record highs Monday as traders took a pause from an end-of-year rally.
The Nasdaq outperformed and ticked slightly above the flat line.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell point-5 percent and the S&P slipped point-2 percent.
The tech-heavy NASDAQ added half-a-percent to finish at 12,519.95.
Oil prices ALSO fell, with Brent Crude down 1.1-percent.
WTI was down 1.3 percent to 45-dollars and 67-cents a barrel.
