S. Korea posts US$ 11.66 bil. current account surplus in Oct., up 48.9% y/y Updated: 2020-12-04 13:18:21 KST

In trade, South Korea posted its biggest current account surplus in about three years in October.
According to the Bank of Korea, October's surplus came to almost 11.7 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 49 percent on year.
This was the sixth month in a row it's been in the black, and the second that it's been higher than 10 billion.
But, in the pandemic, both exports and imports were down exports by 3.8 percent compared to last year, and imports by 5.6 percent.
