Tens of thousands of Argentines have lined up at the presidential palace in Buenos Aires,..where Maradona's body has been laid.
The coffin is draped in an Argentine flag,.. along with his iconic number 10 shirt.
The number also appeared in many of the banners that say D10S the Spanish word for “God".
The president previously designated three days of national mourning, as to many Argentines, Maradona was more than just a soccer legend.
"I think everyone today felt like something died, your childhood died, your mother died, your father died, this is what it feels like or at least that is what it feels like to me."
''Never forget that Maradona fought for the humble, when people didn't have enough to eat, he gave them joy, when many people suffered, no one should ever forget what Diego did for the people."
Napoli is also sharing in the sadness, as Maradona was greatly admired in the Italian city,.. for helping it win two Serie A titles.
Pope Francis, a huge soccer fan, also sent a letter of condolence to Maradona's family, as he remembers his compatriot in prayers.
