Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi is due in Seoul Wednesday for his first visit in around a year.
He'll hold talks with his South Korean counterpart Kang Kyung-wha while he's here.
On Thursday, the two diplomats are expected to discuss ways to work together on COVID-19,regional and international issues, and matters on the Korean Peninsula.
They are also likely to discuss a possible visit to South Korea by Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Wang is due to arrive this afternoon, after wrapping up a two-day visit to Japan.
