N. Korea's denuclearization will bring prosperity to regime, not a collapse: O'Brien Updated: 2020-10-29 10:02:40 KST

North Korea's denuclearization will bring prosperity to the regime, not a collapse that its leader Kim Jong-un fears.
U.S. National Security Adviser Robert O'Brien made the comments during a webinar hosted by the Hudson Institute on Wednesday, in reaction to a question suggesting that the Trump administration's failure to completely rid Pyeongyang of nuclear weapons can be seen as a problem.
The U.S official noted that if the communist state channeled its ability to create nuclear weapons into the real economy, North Korea could be rich.
O'Brien further highlighted that there has not been a long-range intercontinental ballistic missile test by the North since the first Trump-Kim summit in Singapore in 2018.
