The World Trade Organization is choosing a new director general.
One of the two candidates is South Korea's trade minister, Yoo Myung-hee, but European countries are reportedly backing the candidate from Nigeria, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the country's former finance minister.
According to AFP, EU officials reached a consensus in a meeting on Monday.
Some countries had supported the Korean trade minister, but the EU states are expected to publicly announce their decision on Tuesday.
The WTO hopes to make a decision on its new director general by November 7th.
