From steamed buns to roasted sweet potatoes, winter food has reappeared at convenience stores.
Sales of hot snacks and drinks are growing rapidly amid the chilly weather.
One convenience store chain saw sales of roasted sweet potatoes between October 5th and October 7th rise by more than 25% compared to the previous week, and saw hot beverage sales rise by more than 40%.
Those sales figures were also slightly higher than the same period last year.
As well as warm comfort foods, convenience stores are moving to release winter items like hot packs and winter vests.

"Recently, more customers have been looking for outerwear in a hurry while outdoors. So convenience stores began selling winter vests."

At supermarkets, clothes that usually begin selling in early winter are already flying off shelves.
In the first seven days of October, sales of sweaters rose by over 50 percent and men's jackets by over 85 percent compared to the previous year.
Sales of women's thermal innerwear also rose by more than 25 percent.
As for heating products, sales of electric mats more than doubled compared to last year, while sales of electric blankets were up by over 80 percent.

"Sales of heating products are increasing due to the sudden cold snap. Electric mat sales have doubled compared to last year."

In response, supermarkets have been displaying heating products a week earlier than the previous year.
Department stores are looking to take advantage of the high demand by holding promotions for winter bedding and outerwear.
