Some 2,500 people had to evacuate their homes this past week alone to avoid danger from the heavy rain that led to deadly flooding.
As of 8 AM Friday, at least 27 people are either dead or missing, and that's apart from the additional one fatality and 5 others missing, from a rubber boat and a patrol ship capsizing at Uiam Dam in the city of Chuncheon.
In response to the flood damage, the government is looking into announcing "Special Disaster Zones" sometime today.
Parts of Gyeonggi-do, Chungcheongbuk-do and Chungcheongnam-do Provinces are likely to be labeled "Special Disaster Zones" as they have been the most severely affected.
