The U.S. ambassador to South Korea, Harry Harris, and Chinese ambassador (Shing High-ming) Xing Haiming had a surprise meeting Wednesday at the U.S. embassy in Seoul.
According to their embassies, they met for about an hour to discuss U.S.-China relations and the situation on the Korean Peninsula.
Harris uploaded a selfie of their meeting to his Twitter.
According to the Chinese embassy, Xing said China does not have the capability nor willingness to surpass nor replace the U.S. and hopes the U.S. could respect China's interests and choices.
