China's economy has recovered in the second quarter from a record contraction the previous quarter due to the impact of COVID-19.
China's National Bureau of Statistics said Thursday that the economy grew over three percent on-year from April to June.
This follows as Beijing ended lockdown measures, and stepped up stimulus measures to tackle the shock caused by the pandemic.
It is a sharp recovery from the whopping 6.8 percent contraction in the first quarter,exceeding market expectations.
In the first six months, China's economy fell 1.6 percent from a year ago.
