U.S. defense chief Mark Esper calls N. Korea 'rogue state' once again Updated: 2020-07-09 06:59:36 KST

Despite efforts to bring North Korea back to the negotiation table, U.S. Defense Secretary Mark Esper once again named the North as one of a number of "rogue states" that concern Washington.
In a virtual meeting with his counterparts from Australia and Japan on Tuesday, the three sides shared their "strong concern" that North Korea's ballistic missile program pose a serious threat to international security.
Esper also grouped China, Russia and Iran as 'rogue states'.
Esper made similar remarks in February, while discussing the Trump administration's National Defense Strategy.
