COVID-19 cases have now exceeded 11 million worldwidefollowing an around 200-thousand daily global increase.
According to Worldometer, the global number of confirmed cases has reached around 11.2 million as of Friday.
The U.S. is mainly responsible for setting the grim milestone, reporting more than 55-thousand new cases on Thursday.
Brazil has the world's second-largest outbreak after the U.S, followed by Russia, India and Spain.
Almost 530-thousand have died from the virus so far.
Experts note that these countries' resurgences in infections came after the resumption of economic activities.
