Prosecutors will soon review whether they should proceed with a probe on Samsung's de-facto leader Lee Jae-yong.
The prosecution will hold an external committee meeting Friday at 10:30 am Korea time to determine the validity of its investigation into Samsung heir Lee Jae-yong, who they have been planning to indict on managerial succession irregularities and stock manipulation.
The committee will review 50-page written opinions from both sides - Samsung Group and the prosecutors followed by oral presentations from both parties.
Lee, himself, will not attend.
While in most cases, a final decision is made later in the day, many forecast that the process may take longer as an immense amount of documents need to be reviewed considering the complexity of Lee's charges.
