Fed up with months of inaction,. South Korea has officially reopened its complaint against Japan's export curbs.
The South Korean government said Thursday it requested for the World Trade Organization to organise a panel as Tokyo failed to give a clear response by its May deadline.
The issue is likely to be the main agenda in the Dispute Settlement Body meeting on June 29th.
It could take up to two years to reach a verdict.
After South Korea's top court ordered Japanese firms to compensate wartime forced labor victims, Japan imposed retaliatory trade measures on South Korea for three key materials used to make computer chips and displays.
