President Moon Jae-in has sent his appreciation to the legendary Irish rock band U2 for the band's support for peace on the Korean Peninsula.
"I would like to give you my great appreciation and gratitude for sending a message wishing for peace and unification on the Korean Peninsula as well as for women still battling for complete equality."
During the first ever concert by the Irish rock band in Seoul on Sunday, the band relayed messages supporting peace on the Korean Peninsula as well as backing for leading females through its music and video clips.
Known as a philanthropist, lead singer Bono has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize multiple times for efforts to fight debt in the developing world.
He has also been leading efforts to fight extreme poverty and preventable diseases around the world.
