National Assembly to put budget proposal, fast-track bills up for vote this afternoon Updated: 2019-12-09 10:15:51 KST

South Korea's National Assembly is set to vote on its 2020 budget proposal together with a set of fast-tracked reform bills, a day before the parliament's regular session ends on Tuesday.
But this afternoon's session is likely to be a fiery affair as the main opposition Liberty Korea Party has been opposing the passage of the reform bills, and they could try a filibuster.
Lawmakers from the ruling Democratic Party and the minor opposition blocks excluding the main opposition have been working to come up with a unified plan to pass the fast-tracked bills.
They are in their final stages of negotiations, with plans to put the reform bills and budget proposal up for a vote at 2PM, Korea time.
