South Korea's National Assembly is set to review a budget proposal for 2020 and fast-track bills, including ones on electoral and judicial reform.
But this afternoon's plenary session is likely to be a fiery affair as the main opposition Liberty Korea Party could filibuster, speaking for extended periods as a way to prevent a parliamentary vote or delay a bill from being passed.
Without the main opposition Liberty Korea Party,four of South Korea's political parties, including the ruling Democratic Party and a group of lawmakers preparing to launch a new party, have been meeting as a so-called "four plus one" consultative body to come up with a unified plan to pass contentious bills.
