The inter-Korean joint liaison office is expected to open on Friday.
An unnamed unification ministry official told reporters that the ministry is working to make that happen later this week.
When asked whether it could be this Friday, he said 'yes.'
The official added that 50 to 100 officials each from Seoul and Pyeongyang are expected to attend the opening ceremony.
The two Koreas had agreed to open up the office within the joint factory park in Kaesong and have worked together to renovate the relevant buildings in the complex.
