Over at the nation's top office.
At today's press briefing its spokesperson read out a statement from President Moon. expressing his appreciation for the landslide election victory given to his ruling Democratic Party of Korea.
"I'm overwhelmed by your support -- the highest voter turnout in 23 years for a local election. I know this does not mean you think everything in this country has been run perfectly. But despite our faults and shortcomings, you've put your faith in us, and for that we humbly thank you."
The liberal leader also wrote that he will not allow the victory to make him prideful or complacent.
Moon vowed to put his fellow Koreans first, adding there's still a long way to go until all his campaign promises are fulfilled.
