South Korea will not develop or bring in nuclear weapons.
During an interview with CNN, President Moon Jae-in emphasized re-introducing nuclear arms to the nation would make it impossible for the two Koreas to establish peace instead, it will lead to a nuclear arms race in Northeast Asia.
The liberal leader expressed frustration with Pyongyang's growing provocations, saying that those are (quote) "very wrong" and "reckless" decisions by the regime.
He added Seoul needs to expand defense capabilities in the face of such threats.
The interview with the U.S. cable news was conducted ahead of his visit to the States next week for the UN General Assembly in New York.
