The United Nations Command has proposed general-level talks with North Korea to discuss the recent land mine explosions in the demilitarized zone.
The U-N-C says it offered to hold talks on two occasions last week, but Pyongyang has yet to accept or reject the proposal.
This comes after the three land mines detonated on the South Korean side of the DMZ earlier this month, seriously injuring two South Korean soldiers.
South Korea and the UN Command have blamed the regime for the explosions but the North has flatly denied the accusations.
The last time such general-level talks were held was in March 2009.
