Heatwave warnings have been issued for most of the country, with afternoon highs expected easily top 30 degrees Celsius.
That includes Seoul and southern regions, including the city of Daegu, which is expected to see a high of 37 degrees Celsius today.
There will be clear, sunny skies in most regions due to a high-pressure system from the North Pacific.
Korea's weather agency says it's keeping an eye on Earth's strongest cyclone of 2015, Super Typhoon Soudelor (sow-doo-law), in case it diverts from its course which currently sees it making landfall in Taiwan late Friday, local time.
