North Korea test-fired another short-range missile into the East Sea on Monday.
An official at South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff says it had a range of around 2-hundred-20 kilometers and that no prior warning was given.
The official adds that it marks the first time the regime has fired a short-range projectile from its northwestern province of Jagang-do -- just 60 kilometers from its border with China.
The latest exercise comes as cross-border military tensions run high following a series of missile, rocket and artillery launches in July and August.
