Soon after. Foley is killed.
The video continues, showing another U.S. journalist, named Steven Sotloff with the gunmen threatening to kill him too. saying that "the life of this American citizen depends" on the actions of President Obama.

A spokesperson for the White House National Security Council released a statement . saying that the "U.S. intelligence community is working as quickly as possible to determine the authenticity of the video. If genuine, we are appalled by the brutal murder of an innocent American journalist and we express our deepest condolences to his family and friends."
