After months of political bickering, Korea's two main political parties have finally agreed on a special bill that's aimed at uncovering the causes of the ferry disaster in April that killed more than 300 people.
The ruling and main opposition parties said this evening that they had come to terms on giving a special committee prosecutorial powers during their investigation.
That was the main point of contention keeping the bill from passing amid resistance by the ruling Saenuri Party.
Following the passage of the Sewol-ho ferry bill rival parties also agreed to pass other long-pending bills at the upcoming plenary session.
