North Korea's Foreign Minister says his country's nuclear weapons program is a "deterrence" against U.S. hostility, and he vowed that Pyongyang would continue to boost its nuclear capabilities.
Ri Su-yong's remarks, quoted by another North Korean official, came during the main meeting of the ASEAN Regional Forum in Myanmar.
The deputy director of international affairs at the North's foreign ministry, Choe Myung-nam , also told reporters after the meeting that the joint military exercise between South Korea and the U.S. is MUCH more threatening to peace on Korean peninsula than its recent short-range rocket launches.
