It looks like the death of fugitive Sewol-ho ferry owner Yoo Byung-eun will remain a mystery
Korea's National Forensic Service says there is no doubt the body found last month is that of the country's most-wanted man but that they are unable to determine the cause of death.
The state forensic agency said the body was too decomposed for them to gain any conclusive evidence on how he died.
But it did add that poisoning and suffocation were ruled out.
Refuting conspiracy theories suggesting the death of Yoo was faked the director said in addition to DNA samples, a fingerprint sample, dental records and estimated height also matched that of the 73-year-old Yoo.
Mr. Yoo who was believed to be the key figure in the probe of the April ferry disaster disappeared shortly after the disaster and was found dead last month.
