This stimulus package was reported to President Park Geun-hye during a ministerial meeting today.
During the meeting, the Korean president also highlighted the need to cut out the red tape that has been deterring domestic investment.
Stressing the urgent need to revitalize the economy following April's ferry disaster, the president said a task force should be established to remove unnecessary regulations to create jobs, specifically in medicine, tourism and finance.
President Park also asked her officials to seek to expand and improve the current retirement pension system.
On public sector reforms, President Park talked about removing each organization's excessive functions, to bring down their debt.
