South Korea and China have agreed to set up a hotline between their defense chiefs to improve military cooperation between the two nations.
During talks in Beijing on Wednesday, South Korean vice defense minister Baek Sung-joo and China's army deputy chief of staff Wang Guanzhong said the hotline would be up and running by the end of this year.
Once the hotline is operational, the South Korean military expects to have better and faster communications with China on North Korean issues.
Until now, South Korea only shared a high-level military hotline with the U.S.
