S. Korea, Japan to resume talks on comfort women next weekUpdated: 2014-07-16 14:34:27 KST
Senior officials from South Korea and Japan will meet next week to resume talks on Japan's wartime sexual enslavement of Korean women.
An official at Seoul's foreign ministry said Wednesday that the monthly meeting will take place in Seoul.
It will be their first such talks since Japan carried out a review of the Kono Statement, its landmark apology to the so-called "comfort women" issued in 1993.
Also on the agenda is a possible meeting between the foreign ministers of the two countries on the sidelines of the ASEAN Regional Forum in Myanmar next month.
