Israel has accepted Egypt's proposal for a ceasefire in a week-long conflict between Israel and Hamas.
The Israeli security cabinet met early Tuesday morning and released a statement that said it had accepted the truce, effective as of 9 a.m. local time.
The Hamas militant group, which controls Gaza, has yet to respond to Egypt's proposal, however its armed wing has rejected it, calling it a "surrender."
Palestinian officials say at least 192 people, many of them civilians, have been killed in the week-long conflict.
