Brazil's star striker Neymar has been ruled out of the World Cup after he suffered a fractured vertebra in his spine during his country's TWO-ONE quarter-final win against Colombia.
The 22-year-old was kneed in the back by a Colombian defender in a challenge that went unpunished.
Thiago Silva scored Brazil's first on seven minutes, and the host nation looked to be crusing into the last four after David Luiz's stunning free-kick in the 68th minute.
James Rodriguez set up a thrilling finale when he pulled a goal back for Colombia from the penalty spot with 10 minutes left.
Rodriguez is now the World Cup's leading scorer with six goals.
In the night's other quarter-final, Germany beat France ONE-NIL with Mats Hummels scoring an early first half header.
Germany will play Brazil in the semi-final on Wednesday morning, Korea time.
