World Cup: South Korea vs. AlgeriaUpdated: 2014-06-23 20:39:35 (KST)
Hello, and welcome to Prime Time Sports. I'm Steven Choi.
The last of the second group stage matches has come to a close, and it was a disappointing result for South Korea, who were stunned by Algeria's relentless attack.
Early on, the Korean defense was shaky.
Slimani flicked in the first score, and Halliche headed one in two minutes later, to give Algeria the 2-0 lead.
And, right before the half, another defensive gaffe put the Algerian side up 3-0.
In the 50th minute, Son Heung-min powered it past the keeper for Korea's first goal, but any chances of a comeback were dashed by Brahimi's header.
Koo Ja-cheol added one late but Korea couldn't come back, giving Algeria an historic, 4-2 victory.
