Korean mobile messaging service Line has reached another milestone -- 450 million registered users -- and it's aiming for more by the year's end.
The subsidiary of Korean search engine giant Naver says it attracted 30 million users in May alone.
Line currently has 24 million users in Thailand, 20 million in Taiwan and 20 million more in Indonesia.
Globally, it has 15 million users in Spain, 10 million in Mexico and 50 million in Japan, among other countries.
Line has set a year-end goal of 500 million users, and there are rumors the company is reviewing an IPO with a dual U.S. and Japanese listing.
The estimated valuation is in the range of 10 billion dollars.
Facebook paid 19 billion dollars for WhatsApp, a service similar to Line.
