The chief of Korea's largest conglomerate has been hospitalized.
Samsung chairman Lee Kun-hee was admitted late Saturday night local time after having difficulty breathing and underwent an emergency medical procedure on Sunday after showing symptoms of heart failure.
According to company officials, the 72-year-old business titan is now in stable condition.
The chairman has a history of respiratory problems dating back to 1999 when he had surgery for lung cancer.
He was also hospitalized last summer with symptoms of light pneumonia.
Lee Kun-hee's latest heath problems come after recent moves to promote his children to top positions.
The most valid heir to the throne is Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Jay. Y Lee or Lee Jae-yong.
