A South Korean military says a passenger ferry is sinking some 20 kilometers off the coast of Jindo Island, southwestern Korea.
The boat, which departed from Incheon and was heading for Jeju Island, is carrying around 3-hundred-50 people, including some students who were on a field trip.
Helicopters and rescue boats have been deployed to the area.
No details yet on any casualties or what might have caused the ship to start sinking.
