A consortium of Korea's biggest construction companies has officially signed on to an oil refinery and petrochemical plant project in Kuwait.
The group, composed of five local builders, announced the multi-billion dollar deal Monday.
They'll take part in around 69 percent of the orders for the 12 billion dollar project that seeks to update the eco-friendly production system at existing facilities.
Kuwait's Clean Fuel Project calls for the expansion of combined oil refining capabilities to 800-thousand barrels per day.
The project is expected to be completed by November 2017.
