Washington's special envoy for North Korean human rights issues will arrive in Seoul later on this Saturday for talks with senior South Korean officials.
Over the course of his five-day stay, Robert King is expected to discuss North Korea's human rights abuses, as well as the issue of Kenneth Bae, a Korean-American who has been held in North Korea for a year-and-a-half.
He will also meet with North Korean civic groups and defectors.
Meanwhile, a North Korean envoy to the United Nations said Friday that Pyongyang has absolutely no intention of allowing ambassador King to enter North Korea.
The U.S. envoy has been pushing to visit the country to negotiate the release of Mr. Bae.
