Korea, U.S. nearing deal on delay of OPCON transferUpdated: 2014-04-04 14:38:15 (KST)
Korea and the United States are reportedly nearing a deal that would delay a transfer of wartime operational control to Seoul.
Diplomatic sources in Washington say the two nations are making progress in consultations over when and under what conditions the transfer should take place.
The matter will be discussed when officials from both countries meet for the Korea-U.S. Integrated Defense Dialogue in Washington later this month.
Seoul wants the transfer pushed back from December 2015 due to continued threats from North Korea.
