The co-leader of main opposition New Politics Alliance for Democracy has proposed an inter-Korean summit and sending a South Korean delegation to Pyongyang if needed to improve ties between the two Koreas.
In an address to the National Assembly on Wednesday Ahn Cheol-soo said the summit should be viewed by the Park Geun-hye administration as a step toward reunification after gaining support from the public.
With regard to improving the livelihoods of the people, the co-chief suggested holding meetings with the ruling party every first week of the month.
Ahn, however, also took a swipe at President Park Geun-hye's reform drive.
He said her steps to remove excessive regulations on business activity should be done with more caution.
