Retailers expect business conditions to improve in Q2Updated: 2014-04-02 06:28:03 (KST)
Retailers in Korea are feeling better about the pace of the nation's economic recovery.
Business sentiment among them for the coming months has hit a near three-year high.
Korea's Chamber of Commerce and the trade ministry say the country's Business Survey Index for the second quarter jumped to one-hundred-13,up 9 points from three months ago to its highest level since the third quarter of 2011.
A reading above the benchmark 100 means optimists outnumber pessimists.
The index has been on the rise for four consecutive quarters now.
Improved conditions were projected across the board, especially in the semiconductor and machineries sectors.
