North Korea has denounced President Park Geun-hye's reunification speech which she delivered last week during her state visit to Germany.
In a much anticipated speech in Dresden last Friday, President Park proposed three ways to bring the two Koreas together: increasing humanitarian aid, holding more family reunions with North Korea and assisting in North Korea's infrastructure projects.
North Korea's state-run Korean Central News Agency on Monday condemned her remarks on the country's economic difficulties and hungry children.
It said the reality of life in North Korea had been distorted by lies uttered by defectors and false information from South Korea's spy agency.
Monday's report marked the first time North Korea has commented on the president's reunification initiative.
