Now to some comments that are likely to add to the strained bilateral relations between China and Japan---
Chinese President Xi Jinping has criticized Japan's wartime atrocities mentioning the massacre of more than 300-thousand people in Nanjing in 1937.
He made the comments Friday during a speech in Berlin.
President Xi's remarks are likely to draw a sharp response from Japan, as the two countries have been at odds over the number of victims killed in Nanjing, when Japanese troops occupied the Chinese city.
China and Japan's relationship has been close to breaking point over the ownership of Japanese-controlled islets in the East China Sea.
